Target Group
Postgraduate students or highly advanced, performance-experienced students.
Course Structure
isa strives to accommodate the professor preference indicated by participants during the application process.
Each participant will receive four 60-minute teaching units within a period of ten days.
Exception: Masterclass Chamber Music – instruction will, where possible, take place with all professors present for chamber music.
Repertoire for the course may be changed until June 15, 2026. Further details are available on the website.

Supplementary Offerings
In addition to the Masterclasses, isa offers participants supplementary activities in the form of workshops, lectures, and coaching sessions.
Supplementary offerings may only be attended in combination with a Masterclass and are included in the course fee.
Concerts
isaOnStage serves as a presentation platform and offers participants the opportunity to perform in approximately 35 concerts.
A high artistic standard (concert-level performance readiness) is required.
Selection of performers and decisions regarding concert participation are made by the artistic director.
Competitions
The jury is free to withhold prizes, award prizes ex aequo, and grant special prizes.
Nomination for participation in competitions takes place during the first days of the course by the respective professor.
Participants may be nominated for multiple competitions, provided different works are performed. All works must be fully prepared. The jury decides which movement is to be performed.
Prize winners may be invited to perform in the final concerts of the respective Masterclasses or at the prizewinners’ concert.
Certificate
At the end of the course, participants will receive a certificate confirming their participation in isa.
Application and Requirements
Applications must be submitted online via www.isa-music.org no later than April 15, 2026.
A high artistic level is required and must be demonstrated by two demo recordings (video only; audio recordings permitted for composition).

Application fee: € 150 (chamber music per ensemble)
Course fee: € 745

free admission to selected concerts of the isaFestival

passive participation in the instructional program (workshops and lectures)
Payment
The application fee must be paid by April 15, 2026 at the latest.
The course fee must be paid after confirmation of participation and no later than July 1, 2026.

All charges and fees for international bank transfers must be borne by the participant.

The participant’s name must be clearly stated on the transfer.
Cancellation
Withdrawal by participants: From July 1, 2026, the course fee may only be refunded in documented cases of force majeure. The application fee is non-refundable in all cases.
Non-accepted applicants: The application fee will be fully refunded.
Cancellation by isaMasterClass: If a Masterclass is cancelled by isaMasterClass, both the course fee and the application fee will be fully refunded.
Travel
Travel arrangements and costs are the responsibility of the participants.
Only participants with valid health insurance are eligible to attend.
Accommodation
Accommodation must be arranged independently by participants.
For accepted participants, special rates at selected hotels are available until the end of May 2026.
Severability Clause
Should individual provisions of these General Terms and Conditions be or become invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions shall remain unaffected. The invalid provision shall be replaced by a valid provision that comes as close as possible to the intended purpose of the original provision.
Liability
Participation in the isaMasterClass takes place at the participant’s own risk. Participants are liable for any damage caused by them. Liability for damages is excluded to the extent permitted by law, unless such damage is caused by intent or gross negligence, in particular in cases where a Masterclass or course must be cancelled.
Underage Participants
Registration of underage participants requires a parental consent form signed by the legal guardian or person with custody.
The legal guardian agrees that the mdw – University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna does not assume supervision of underage participants during waiting periods. Supervision by teaching staff is limited exclusively to class time and takes place only in mdw teaching rooms.
Legal guardians must ensure that their child is properly handed over to the teaching staff and collected afterward by themselves or authorized persons.
If an underage participant does not attend a scheduled class, mdw assumes no liability.
Legal guardians are liable for any damage caused by the underage participant.
mdw’s liability toward underage participants and their legal guardians is limited to intent and gross negligence. No liability is assumed for valuables.
Applicable Law and Place of Jurisdiction
Austrian law shall apply to all disputes arising out of or in connection with this contractual relationship, excluding the provisions of international private law and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.
The place of jurisdiction shall be Vienna, Austria.
Declaration
By registering, participants agree to these General Terms and Conditions.
Photographs as well as audio and video recordings made during isa26, including radio and television broadcasts, are planned. Participants expressly consent to such use.
The mdw – University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna reserves all rights to image and audio material.
Any claims by third parties will not be acknowledged.
