The objective of this workshop is to join together with the participants in taking the string instruments of cello and violin, which are strongly anchored in the classical music tradition, in a new direction. Spontaneity and improvisation in jazz and rock aesthetics are in focus here, as is basic knowledge of harmony, rhythm, and groove.

• Playing without music for strings
• A practical approach to and familiarisation with improvisation
• String patterns und grooves, jazz/rock harmony and rhythm
