“What do I really want to say with this…?” – Pronunciation and clear enunciation are one thing, but what do the words I’m speaking or singing here really mean? This workshop with Roland Koch, an actor with the ensemble of the Burgtheater and a professor at the Max Reinhardt Seminar, is about interpreting and acting out (Lied) texts. Developing a substantive understanding of texts facilitates works’ deep-reaching interpretation and also influences how they affect listeners. Participating voice students can bring along the texts to the Lieder and arias on which they’re currently working.
