Cello Unlimited – Perényis Favourites
Miklós Perényi
“You get this idea inside that you’ve got to realise right away. Avoid thinking about where to put your fingers—otherwise, it won’t work. It has to happen automatically. You have to observe what you’re doing, but you can’t consciously think about it.” Miklós Perényi, Fono Forum, January 2018
Hungarian cellist Miklós Perényi is among the great artists of his generation. He has developed a broad repertoire over the course of his long career, ranging from 17th-century works to contemporary pieces. In this workshop, he’ll be passing on his extensive knowledge concerning musical matters and playing technique. Especially close to his heart are the works of Johann Sebastian Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven, and Franz Schubert, but participants may also bring along other repertoire.
Please let us know (at isa-music@mdw.ac.at) which pieces you’d like to work on by 1 Aug. 2021 at the latest.
